Domiciliary Care / Home Visits
Domiciliary physiotherapy allows the physiotherapist to assess and treat you within the home environment, whether it be at home, or in a care setting. This can be more convenient for you and your family, and also allows the physiotherapist to adjust your treatment and rehabilitation to your own home environment and identify and address any specific difficulties that are being experienced. We can also work closely with any carers, families and other healthcare professionals.
On the initial visit, an assessment will be carried out, and treatments may include advice, strengthening exercises, balance retraining, pain management, mobility practice and general rehabilitation. If patients seen by our service are assessed as a risk of falling, we can then give appropriate treatment and advice to help manage and prevent falls. We will agree on any care or treatment in partnership with you.
Domiciliary Home Physiotherapy is ideal for patients who have recently been discharged after a prolonged hospital stay, have reduced mobility or impaired balance and for Post-operative rehabilitation (orthopaedic or surgical). Support at home is a crucial part of your recovery.
Home Visits are charged at £80 per visit.
