Sports Massage

Sports massage is effective technique designed to relieve tension, increase flexibility and improve muscle tone.

You don't have to be an athlete to benefit - day to day life can cause a chronic build up of tension often around the shoulders and neck or the lower back; this can be greatly reduced through deep tissue massage techniques and stretches. If you are an active sports person, then using sports massage as part of your training regime can help to reduce fatigue and muscle soreness, allowing you to train more frequently and intensely and helping to prevent injury.

Here are some of the ways in which sports massage can help you:
  • improve circulation and lymphatic flow
  • increase or decrease muscle length and tone.
  • improve range of motion.
  • assist in removal of metabolic waste that causes soreness/stiffness.
  • relieve stress and tension.
  • free muscle adhesions and soften scar tissue caused by injury.
  • speed recovery and healing of injured/overused muscles.
  • assist in removal of sore trigger points resulting from injury/overuse.
  • enhance body awareness.
Sports Massage with a Chartered Physiotherapist £45 for 30 minutes, £80 for 60 minutes.
